Course  Features

The biggest features of The Coast Golf Club are the sea and the wind. The course, designed along the coastal cliffs, allows you to experience a completely different round every time depending on the wind direction and strength of the day. In particular, the first four holes have different tee shot directions in the east, west, south, and north, so the score will vary depending on how you utilize and overcome the wind.

In particular, the 150m par 3 4th hole requires a shot to the green across the ocean. Due to the wind and the visual burden of having to cross the ocean, there are cases where the ball falls into the ocean, but confident golfers can boldly try a shot across the ocean.

Course strategy tip: On days with strong sea breezes, it is recommended to choose a club that is one or two clubs longer than usual. Remember that the wind is not something to be overcome, but rather something to be used.

A special golf course that started in a hospital

The course was originally located on the site of Prince Henry Hospital. A small golf course was operated in the 1920s for the welfare of hospital staff, and after the hospital closed, it was reborn as the current 18-hole course in the early 2000s with the development of the area. The clubhouse is a renovated laundry building built in 1899, and is preserved as a Heritage Listed building, so the old-fashioned charm felt throughout the golf course is another charm.

Public links for everyone to enjoy

The Coast Golf Club is a public course where anyone can make a reservation and play a round without membership. It is available on weekends and public holidays, except during member competition times, and open competitions are held every Tuesday and Friday for anyone with an official handicap. It is a golf course with points that everyone can enjoy, from beginner golfers to low handicap players.

After a round, enjoy a meal and a beer with ocean views at the club's in-house restaurant, Henry's at The Coast, making for the perfect ending to your day at The Coast Golf Club.

Overall Review

The Coast Golf Club is more than just a place to play golf; it offers a special experience where you can enjoy the ocean, cliffs, and wind. On windy days, you may not expect a good score, but that means there is always a new round waiting for you. If you are looking for a public links course in Sydney with the ocean in your arms, The Coast Golf Club will more than meet your expectations.
